The family of the late Al Copeland honored his legacy on Saturday by lighting the entrepreneur's famous Christmas lights for the last time.

The display at the Popeyes Chicken and Biscuits founder's home on Folse Drive in Metairie were lit for the final time at 6 p.m.

Copeland began his Christmas display 35 years ago.

He died in March from a rare form of cancer.

Next year, the display will move to Lafreniere Park.
