New Orleans Re-Signs Bowen

New Orleans, LA -- (Sports Network) - The New Orleans Hornets have re-signed reserve forward Ryan Bowen to a contract. Terms of the deal were not released.The 32-year-old Bowen averaged 2.2 points and 1.9 rebounds in 53 games during the 2007-08 regular season. He participated in nine playoff games for the Hornets, who were eliminated in the West semis by the San Antonio Spurs. "We're very pleased to re-sign Ryan due to his ability to provide a spark off the bench and how well he fits in with our team," said Hornets general manager Jeff Bower. "Ryan is a great asset to our team both on and off the court. When he is on the court, he has a nose for the ball and is always giving his all to help our team in anyway possible."
The 6-foot-9 Iowa product has started just 82 of his 485 NBA games in eight seasons with Denver, Houston and New Orleans. He has averaged 2.6 points and 2.1 rebounds.
