NEW ORLEANS -- Police are searching for a second man in connection to a robbery and rape at a motel on Chef Menteur Highway.

Officers said the two suspects, Jonathan Arnold and a man named “Ty,” met the victim at a nearby nightclub where she agreed to meet the pair at the motel. Police said they’ve been reviewing security tape from the motel.

Crimestoppers executive director Darlene Cusanza said Arnold has been arrested, but officers are still searching for the second man.

“He has a tattoo of a cross between his eyes on his forehead,” Cusanza said. “He’s approximately 25 years of age. He’s a black male, 5 feet 10 inches, 150 pounds, black hair and brown eyes.”

She said the second suspect held the victim at gunpoint and robbed her with Arnold’s help, and Arnold then burglarized the victim’s car while the gunman raped her.

Cusanza said the pair fled in a burgundy colored Chevy Lumina.
