New Orleans, LA -- (Sports Network) - Joe Webb gained 130 yards on 18 carries and scored three rushing touchdowns to lead the UAB Blazers to a 41-24 victory over the Tulane Green Wave in a Conference USA tussle at the Louisiana Superdome. As a signal-caller, Webb completed 15-of-21 for 154 yards in addition to his efforts on the ground in the UAB (3-7, 2-4 C-USA) victory, while Justin Brooks ran for 74 yards on just 10 carries. Kevin Moore threw for 235 yards and a touchdown to lead Tulane (2-8, 1-5), but was also responsible for three interceptions in the loss. Kevin McDonald finished the afternoon with three touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving). Joe Webb broke free for a 31-yard run early in the opening quarter to give UAB a 7-0 advantage. Tulane responded late in the frame with a three-yard scoring run by J.T. McDonald. A one-yard plunge from Rashaud Slaughter early in the second period gave the Blazers a 14-7 lead. The Green Wave answered back just minutes later, as Moore connected with McDonald on a 27-yard TD toss. The Blazers took a 17-14 lead into the break following a 41-yard kick from Swayze Waters. Webb found the end zone once again following a three-yard carry early in the third period to give UAB a 24-14 advantage. Tulane made it a 24-21 game midway through the frame with a 13-yard run from McDonald. UAB added to its lead late in the period as Webb moved forward for a two- yard score. A 50-yard Ross Thevenot field goal early in the final period of play pulled Tulane to within a touchdown. But the Blazers added a 29-yard kick from Waters late in the fourth and a 36- yard interception return by Matt Ryan minutes later to clinch a 17-point victory.
